Camp Loblolly has a fully trained nurse on site.
Health Documents
Our nurse is the only person who is in possession of and reviews the health documents of our campers, CATs, tags and adult volunteers.
She will create a list of all allergies for the unit leaders, which will be in their notebooks at all times.
She will only share important information with unit leaders so that your camper will have the best camp experience possible.
Medicine
If your camper, CAT or tag requires medicine during the course of the day or has an inhaler, this should be dropped off with her each morning and picked up each afternoon. The medicine needs to be in a zip lock bag with the camper's name clearly written on the outside of the bag.
Campers, CATs and tags at no time are allowed to self medicate at camp.
Adults can drop off any emergency items that they would like her to have. Adults, though, may take any medicine they need to take during the course of the day themselves. However, if you are taking medicine on a daily basis, we ask that you fill out the medication form so that the nurse is aware of what you are taking during the day in case of an emergency. We also ask that you do not take medicine in front of campers. A
Accidents during the day
If you child visits the nurse during the course of the day, a note will be sent home with the camper at the end of the day.
If your child requires care that the nurse deems needs immediate notification, she will use the information on the health form to contact the appropriate parent(s)/guardian(s)/emergency contact(s).
Illness
If your child is ill in the morning and will not be attending camp, please let us know by 8:30 a.m. You will be given the telephone numbers to text the week prior to camp.
If you child becomes ill during camp, she will be brought to the nurse's station and will stay with her until you are able to pick them up from camp.
